Frequently asked questions

What counts as a monitored model?

One Hugging Face model repository, written as organisation/name. PinDiff records changes to that repository’s weights, licence, remote code, access and model card. A plan’s model limit is how many repositories it covers.

Can I use PinDiff without paying?

Yes. The public change feed and model evidence pages are free to read, and the Free plan is £0. Developer, Team and Organisation are for higher limits. Online billing is not available yet, so those plans start by contacting us.

Does PinDiff download model weights?

No. PinDiff does not download weight files. It identifies weights from repository file-tree metadata (LFS SHA256 or git blob id) and only fetches small text files: the model card, config and licence.

Does PinDiff tell me whether a model is safe?

No. PinDiff records and classifies upstream changes. It does not certify a model as safe, compliant or approved. Your engineering, security and governance teams decide what to do with the evidence.

What happens if a model changes licence?

PinDiff records the licence change, including the previous and new licence when both are known, and publishes it on the public change feed and the model’s evidence page. It does not decide whether you may still use the model.

Can PinDiff monitor private models?

No. PinDiff monitors public Hugging Face model repositories. Private repositories are not part of the product.

Do you support models outside Hugging Face?

No. Monitoring covers Hugging Face model repositories only.
